I’ve actually had a lot of patients ask me why I chose dentistry, and I always tell them the same story that when I was going to college and my parents were about to pay for that college, they sat me down at dinner table and said, “Hey, what are you gonna do with your life?” And I said, “I like art.” And they said, “What else do you wanna do with your life?” So, I chose dentistry because it’s that perfect blend of art and science.
The most rewarding aspect of dentistry for me is the art and the transformative nature. I mean, not just with how things look or feel, but also watching a person go from fearful to comfortable. Being a part of that transformation is what’s very rewarding for me.
A lot of my patients say that they are comfortable with me, and that stems from an experience I had once. I got to watch my wife have a LASIK surgery. I could tell my wife was really nervous, and the doctor… I basically walked her through that procedure and told her everything that was happening, that everything was going as planned. And I saw that that really relaxed her. So, when I treat my own patients, I try to match that level of communication and always tell them what to expect and what’s normal to expect. And that way they can trust in the care that I’m giving them.
I think that people should consider Charlotte Dentistry because of our genuinely friendly staff. We strive to make all of our patients comfortable. We also do our best to make sure that we address people’s main concern first, whenever possible.
